It’s really hard for us to figure out how to monetize our music.
It makes no sense to us.
How much should we sell our cds for? Should we make vinyls since “it’s cool”?
The actual content worth the world for us as artist but how can you put a price on it?
As an independent band, we do not want to sell music. When you go to a political meeting, you buy tickets, merchandisings and it’s a way for you to support ideas and actions. We are far from being politicians but we think a band should be supported by the people.
Donations seem the most acceptable way to exchange, support and release our music. Honestly, it costs money to play in a band, tour, create music and rehearse. It also consumes a lot of our time and energy, but the main goal for us is to interact with people.
We want to use our music to share opinions and a certain vision of the world. Music is not something real that you can touch or taste. It’s a feeling, a memory, motivation, power and/or hope. You cannot describe music, all those labelisations or classifications are useless. Bands slowly became that single-serving product that you forget as soon as another copy arrives.
The undeniable necessity of activism in our life, the will to be useful, meaningful and coherent in our approach to our bands and music led us to this kind of structure. Basically, this system of donations is based on supporting projects and will keep our bands alive. We all have jobs that keep us just above the poverty level but let’s face it, creativity needs times and commitment.
So if you’d like so support our bands or the idea behind this Network, please donate whatever you can. We don’t have much money and we genuinely understand the economical situation we all live in.
We make music so people can hear it.
So really, any donation is appreciate.
